🚨 Trump’s Appeal: What to Expect

Former President Trump’s legal team began outlining its appeal strategy within hours of his conviction in New York, but experts tell Axios it will be an uphill battle. Given the high bar to overturn the verdict and the timeline, Trump will almost certainly still be a convicted felon on election day. Both parties have until June 13 to file motions in the case, and sentencing is set for July 11. After that, Trump would have 30 days to file an appeal. The process is expected to take several months, making it unlikely to conclude before November. 🔎 👨‍⚖️

TL;DR ⏳: Trump’s chances of overturning his conviction before the election are slim, and the appeal process is expected to stretch out for months, possibly keeping him free on bail during this period.

🎬 Robert De Niro Loses Award

Robert De Niro is no longer set to receive an award for his philanthropy from the National Association of Broadcasters’ Leadership Foundation. The decision came after De Niro’s public support for President Joe Biden outside Donald Trump’s trial. The foundation cited a need to avoid distractions from the philanthropic work being honored. 🏆️ 🎤

TL;DR ⏳: De Niro loses philanthropy award due to his political comments at Trump’s trial, as the foundation aims to keep the focus on service.
